About Me
Greetings and welcome to my website.
My name is Rick Schettino. I run a marketing and advertising studio. I’m also “The Self Employment Coach™.”
I’ve devoted my entire life to three disciplines.
The first is mastering creativity. I explore the creative process in every way I can including design, writing, photography, music, video, acting, crafts, and many other artistic endeavors. I’ve worked on everything from global ad campaigns, to stained glass windows, to radio ads, to poetry, to music performance, and too much more to mention.
The second discipline is strategy, especially small business and marketing strategy. I have a deep fascination with marketing and advertising strategies, business systems, and sales psychology.
The third is helping other people to live their dreams.
Over the course of the past 27 years I have been a magazine editor, senior art director, music producer, radio ad and jingle writer, marketing director, project manager, operations director, business planner, and fund raiser, and I have helped to develop, launch, and grow a handful of multimillion dollar companies.
My experience with a variety of business models and marketing strategies gives me the ability to assure that my work with your company draws on well-organized marketing strategies and effective advertising principles.
If you have a small business that you would like to grow give me a call. It’s my specialty.
The best way to contact me to discuss your vision is to call me at 760-453-2228.
Education & Experience
I was originally trained in graphic arts and drafting at Minuteman vocational high school in Lexington, Massachusetts. By the age of 17 I had an internship as an electromechanical draftsman. By graduation I was documenting and prototyping complex electronic equipment. I went on to study digital audio production at Berklee College of Music while working as a freelance graphic designer and CAD drafter.
In 1986 I joined forces with a music studio owner and founded a resource magazine for independent musicians and record labels called Performer Magazine for which I acted as executive editor and art director until 1995. During that time I produced more than 50 issues and designed hundreds of advertisements. The magazine still exists today with tens of thousands of readers coast to coast.
Since 1995, I’ve made my living as a consultant in design, marketing, publishing and small business strategies. I have worked for prestigious advertising and marketing agencies as well as numerous small businesses.
During the late 1990’s I worked under some of the most talented creative directors and marketing strategists on the planet and worked my way up from graphic production artist to senior art director in only a few years. During those agency years I created and contributed to marketing campaigns and display advertising designs for many well-known brands such as Kraft and Nabisco, CNN, and many others.
I have been working with small business owners since 1999 on marketing and advertising strategies, graphic design, publishing, corporate identity, and media production. I have handled well over 1,000 individual marketing and creative projects.
In recent years I turned my attention to internet marketing and web design and have since developed dozens of websites for clients in varying industries from home services to manufacturing to retail to publishing.
