“I Wanna Go Outside”

By November 11, 2015 Lyrics, Music No Comments

I came up with the idea for this song recently when I was explaining to someone why I moved out of New England to San Diego back in 1999. People would ask me why I was leaving my friends and family behind and starting over in a place where I had no friends and no job. Not being a winter wonderland kinda guy, I used to say, “Some people want a big house, some people want fast cars, some people want exotic vacations… I just wanna go outside.”

I wanna go outside
It’s too nice to stay inside
Wanna fly in a sun filled blue sky
I wanna go outside
Under a the palm trees in the shade (I’ll be passing by)
While you sell your honey lemonade (I will catch your eye)
You call out my name (I pretend surprise)
You ask me to stay (I see it in your eyes)
I wanna go outside
It’s too nice to stay inside
Wanna ride in the autumn moonlight
I wanna go outside
We’ll take your daddy’s Chevrolet (in middle of the night)
Drive on down that seaside road by the bay (turn out all the lights)
Fog up the windows and we’ll draw smiley faces (time will pass us by)
We’ll chase it all the way (to the morning light)
I wanna go outside
It’s too nice to stay inside
Wanna fly in a sunfilled blue sky
I wanna go outside
