“St. Tropez”

Saint-Tropez-Cover-Art

This song was released on Valentines Day. It’s about a guy who wakes his girlfriend up in the middle of the night and surprises her with tickets to St. Tropez. They wing on over to France and have a romantic vacation. In the end, they go back and retire there play music in a sidewalk cafe. My favorite part of this song is the nifty guitar licks in the outro.

Wake up baby, rise and shine
Wipe the sleep out of your eyes
We could hop an early flight
To a lovers’ paradise
Summer skies are never gray
And there’s never any ordinary days
A sunny seaside port five thousand miles away
We’ll go leave our hearts in Saint Tropez

Sipping Taittinger at a sidewalk cafe
Watching the moon set on the bay
We can drive along the coastline to Marseilles
Or we could sail off to St. Maxime for the day
The time we find is ours to while away
And we’ll go leave our hearts in Saint Tropez

In the sunrise of our golden days
When the kids have moved away
We can buy a charming countryside chalet
We’ll sing and play at un joli petite cafe
Allez-vous voler avec moi s’il vous plaît?
We’ll go leave our hearts in Saint Tropez
We’ll come back for them some day
We’ll leave our hearts in Saint Tropez
